Marketing Your Local Arizona Business Online – Part 2, Display Advertising

Have you ever bought something after directly clicking on an online display ad? Before you answer with a quick NO! Let me ask a different question.

Have you ever bought anything from a brand that you have seen a display ad for at any given time?

Say for example you are sitting at your son’s t-ball game and see an ad on the outfield wall for XYZ Chiropractic. Two days later while browsing Facebook on your IPAD, you see a Free Exam ad for XYZ Chiropractic. A week later you are driving by XYZ Chiropractic, paying no attention to it on your way to pick up your son. Then in your weekly basketball game with friends you tweak you back and need a chiropractor. You go on to Google and search “chiropractor near me” and see an ad 3 down for “XYZ Chiropractic” and click on it to schedule an appointment.

Which impression gets the conversion credit? The last one of course! However, people tend to choose things they are familiar with and the familiarity with your brand the other impressions created, assisted in the conversion.

Display Advertising helps orchestrate familiarity with your audience in a cost effective and targeted way.

When you have identified your buyer personas, you can use them to set the targeting for your display advertising.

In yesterday’s Fitness Studio buyer persona example, this would be a well targeted display solution:

General Display Ads

Audience

  • Female
  • Age 25-40
  • 5 Mile Radius from location
  • Interested in Health and Fitness

Facebook Ads

Audience

  • Female
  • Age 25-40
  • 5 Mile Radius from location
  • Interested in Health and Fitness

Display Retargeting

Audience

  • Users that have already been to your site

*These users have already shown enough interest in your brand to visit the website, retargeting is a great way to increase frequency with your audience and keep your brand top of mind.

This is just a simple sample strategy for our example buyer persona yesterday. Every business is unique and will have its own buyer personas. If you would like to see what a custom display strategy would look like for your business, Request One Free
