This week we’re talking to Roland Sarria: the founder of Rage in the Cage. Roland came to the US from Cuba in 1967, played college football, and transitioned to a career in Mixed Martial Arts in the nineties. From training with the Gracies to battling with Arizona’s legislature to legalize the sport of MMA fighting, to becoming Arizona’s first licenses promoter, Roland has become known as one of the godfathers of the sport. As an untrained, inexperienced promoter, Roland learned to be a master of his craft because of his willingness to learn the business from the ground up.
